Constantin Side Table, Homage to Brancusi by Gavina, Italy, 1971. (First Edition) The Constantin designer coffee table is a work of art included in the Ultramobile collection designed in 1971 by Studio Simon as a tribute to the work of the artist Constantin Brancusi. Two mass-producible elements were taken from the universe of the Romanian sculptor, combined into a perfect whole that gives the structure an elegant sensation of movement and continuity. The coffee table is made with a base in solid oak wood finished in wax, while the top has a circular profile in satin brushed brass foil. Dino Gavina (1922 – 2007) was an Italian entrepreneur, designer and publisher. He is one of the most important entrepreneurial figures in the Italian furniture and design sector. He founded the companies Gavina spa, Flos and Simon. Literature: Vercelloni, Das Abenteuer des Design: Gavina, Milan 1987, No. 133; Kat. Ultramobile simongavina, Milan, p. 12.
